Today, the House voted on a bailout package for struggling banks and the measure was defeated. While it is entirely possible that a bailout will still occur, in some form or another, for the moment we should rejoice.

Woods directs a challenge to progressives. If the economic left is truly concerned about the poor (rather than simply deferent to the state) why do they support central banking -- the most regressive tax that our government imposes?
